DENTON, Texas (April 4, 2018) – The Salvation Army of Denton will hold its 2018 annual luncheon in the Mean Green Club at the University of North Texas’ Apogee Stadium in Denton on Tuesday, April 24 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
This year’s keynote speaker will be WFAA-TV sports anchor Dale Hansen, who also hosts Dale Hansen's Sports Special every Sunday night. Hansen’s honors and recognitions include the George Foster Peabody Award for Distinguished Journalism, Sportscaster of the Year twice by the Associated Press, Texas Sportscaster of the Year on three occasions by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association, and Best Sportscaster by United Press International and the Dallas Press Club.
Hansen began his career as a radio disc jockey and operations manager in Newton, Iowa. He subsequently became a sports reporter at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska. Hansen’s first job in Dallas was with KDFW-TV Channel 4, and he joined WFAA-TV in 1983.
Host George Dunham of Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket will serve as master of ceremonies.
A highlight of the luncheon will be a live testimonial by retired Air Force Colonel and Serve Denton founding board member, Pat Smith.
Funds raised from the annual luncheon help The Salvation Army to continue to provide shelter for homeless men, women, and children in Denton, as well as free meals daily, clothing, groceries, and hygiene items for less fortunate members of the community. The center also provides spiritual counseling, financial aid and referral assistance.
Tickets for the event are $75 each and table sponsorships range from $1,000 to $5,000. For more information, call (940) 566-3800 or email email@example.com.
