Items have been donated by community to help fund programs
for local homeless and disadvantaged
The Salvation Army
of DFW will hold a massive garage sale in their 50,000 square foot warehouse to
raise money for programs and services offered to those homeless and
disadvantaged in Fort Worth. The sale will include items such as furniture,
jewelry, computers, exercise equipment, books, housewares, and more. Admission
is just $1 to those over 14-years-old; 14 and under are free.
The programs the
Salvation Army offers in Fort Worth includes shelter for the homeless, free
daily meals for the hungry, a homeless-prevention program for those at risk of
losing their home, a transitional housing program, substance-abuse rehab for
chemically dependent women with children, a community food pantry, senior
citizen programs, and Christmas assistance.
