2015 Most Good 5K Race

The Salvation Army announced Coco-Cola VP Mark Schortman to chair Most Good 5K Race

DALLAS (March 2, 2015) – The Salvation Army is pleased to announce that Mark Schortman, Coca-Cola Vice President, North American Sales, will serve as the chair of the annual Most Good 5K race to be held on Saturday, May 30.

The race will start at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers will enjoy a route that winds through Uptown and finishes back at Klyde Warren Park with a post-race celebration.

“It’s a privilege to be chairing such an important fundraising event,” said Mark Schortman, chair of the event. “The money raised is going to help so many people. Some need a hot meal. Others need an affordable after-school program that helps their kids with homework or teaches them how to play an instrument. Someone else might need shelter or a safe place to stay. The Salvation Army helps to alleviate suffering and meet human needs.”

Salvation Army DFW Metroplex Command CEO, Major Ward Matthews, said, “Having Mark Schortman of Coca-Cola as our chairman speaks volumes about this event. Mark is a giant in the industry, and yet he serves and serves. We would be hard pressed to find a better leader for the 5K than Mark.”

The Salvation Army serves Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton and Ellis Counties with 70 programs and services. Last year, The Salvation Army helped approximately 100,000 people with meals, shelter, rehabilitation, and youth, senior and Christmas programs. For more information, log onto salvationarmydfw.org.
