North Texas continues to experience explosive population growth. Along with this growth comes a proportional increase in poverty and other social ills. To more effectively combat poverty, homelessness and addiction, The Salvation Army of North Texas will be launching significant strategic initiatives that will be shared at our 2019 Annual Doing the Most Good Luncheon at noon on Tuesday, November 19 in the Chantilly Ballroom at the Hilton Anatole.
The initiatives include greatly expanding social services, establishing county-based service teams in our five-county area, decentralizing fundraising to the county level, and building a new $95 million social service complex on Stemmons Freeway near Regal Row.
One of our country’s most respected leaders in evangelical circles, Dr. Tony Evans will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Evans has been senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Church for more than 40 years. He has witnessed the church’s growth from ten people in 1976 to now more than 10,000 and over 100 ministries.
Accompanying Dr. Evans on the program will be Jim Denison, Ph.D., who produces a daily column that is distributed to more than 113,000 subscribers in 203 countries.
