Meeting the Needs of Seniors

The elderly living in poverty comprise a vulnerable segment of our population. Many are in poor health and are unable to work. Some have no living relatives, or unfortunately, none who will care for them. The Salvation Army offers programs to help meet the needs of senior citizens.

During 2006, The Salvation Army made 30,080 nursing home visits, served 42,993 meals, and housed 113 seniors.

786 Seniors participated in our Community Center Day Programs.
