A Message From Corps Officer Lieutenant Linda Choi:
March 3, 2017
In an effort to serve the Denton community more effectively, The Salvation Army Denton Corps and Shelter have made some adjustments to our daily operations and we would like you to be aware of those improvements.
New Hours of Operation
-Donations will be accepted on Wednesdays and Fridays between the hours of 1:00pm and 4:00pm. Please call ahead of time to coordinate acceptance.
-Food Pantry services are available to the community on Wednesdays and Fridays, beginning at 1:00pm - 3:45pm.
-Breakfast and dinner will continue to be offered to our clients and we welcome the community to our evening meal.
-Shelter check-in will continue to take place at 5:00pm seven days a week.
New Staffing Structure
We have restructured the client services team in order to increase the amount of staff focused on providing intensive services to each client. We are in the process of increasing from one part-time Case Worker to three Case Workers (one full-time and two part-time Case Workers) which will result in a 185.7% increase in the number of available client service hours each week. Our Case Workers are eager to begin making appointments with current and potential clients during the hours of 2:00pm - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. We are also in the process of increasing the number of Case Aides on staff to enhance shelter service provision.
Please note: the social service office will be closed to the public the remainder of the week except by Case Worker appointment. Persons seeking an appointment with a Case Worker should schedule appointments in advance. Walk-in requests will be assessed based on the level of emergency and staff availability.
If you have any questions, feel free to call me at 940-566-3800.
Lt. Linda Choi
