Texas' Leadership

The work of The Salvation Army in Texas is under the direction of Lt. Colonel Robert J. Tritton. Colonel Tritton grew up in Texas, having moved to San Angelo in 1949 with his parents who were Salvation Army officers. The family also lived in Longview, Galveston and Fort Worth where he graduated from high school in 1958. After graduation, he moved to Tyler to assist in the local corps and to attend Tyler Junior College. There he met and began dating Patsy Allison, a third generation Salvationist who was born and raised in Tyler. The couple married in 1960 and entered The Salvation Army School for Officer training in 1961. Upon completion, they were commissioned back to Texas in Houston and Pampa. (Mrs. Tritton also holds the rank of Lt. Colonel.)
