Young Role Models & Leaders
The Salvation Army Youth Advisory Council was created to educate youth in the Dallas Metroplex about The Salvation Army and to encourage others to participate in Salvation Army service projects and volunteer opportunities.
The council consists of youth grades 9 through 12, who are considered to be role models and leaders in their community. The council's goal is to take ideas, projects, assistance and guidance to their respective schools in order to highly motivate youth involvement with Salvation Army service/volunteer projects and donations of in-kind gifts.
In touch with a new generation, the council encourages leadership, service, compassion, and friendship among schools. This helps break down barriers and unites this diverse group in one cause -- service to others throughout the community.
Youth Advisory Council members learn to work together to help those less fortunate, supporting a lifetime of service to others.
