Former Dallas Police Chief David Brown will be the keynote speaker at the annual Doing the Most Good Luncheon. Chief Brown was on the Dallas police force for 33 years, including six years as chief of police. He received national praise for his handling of the aftermath of the July 7 shooting downtown, when a lone gunman ambushed police officers, killing five and injuring nine others.
Brown is a native Dallasite and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1979. He attended the University of Texas at Austin before joining the Dallas Police Department.
The Luncheon Chair is Michal Powell and the Honorary Chair is Bobby B. Lyle.
The Annual Luncheon, which helps fund crucial programs for The Salvation Army, will be held from noon to1:30 p.m. on November 16, 2017 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, in The Chantilly Ballroom.
