New clothes help needy individuals enhance their dignity and self-esteem.
When many people think of giving clothing to The Salvation Army, they think of taking worn items off of hangers in the closet or out of drawers to give to the needy. The only catch is, like the rest of us, needy people like to wear new clothes rather than other people's cast-off garments.
The Salvation Army feels it is important to present new clothes to needy individuals to enhance their dignity and self-esteem, which are already fragile and compromised.
Companies, churches, schools, civic clubs and other community groups are invited to conduct new clothing drives to help needy people in Dallas, Denton, Collin, Ellis and Tarrant counties.
